What is included
A switchboard inspection (fuse type, safety switches, condition, capacity for what you are adding) and a smoke alarm check against the Queensland rules, with a written note of anything that needs doing and what it would cost. No obligation on the extras.
What it is worth
A licensed electrician's eyes on the two things most likely to hurt your family or fail an insurance claim, before either does. Most homes with a pre-2000 board or battery alarms have at least one thing that needs fixing.
What you pay
Nothing for the check. Switchboard upgrades and smoke alarm installs are quoted as a fixed price before we start. The price you are quoted is the price you pay.
From 1 January 2027 every Queensland home must have interconnected photoelectric smoke alarms. The calendar is small, so quotes are worked in order of enquiry.

What is the free health check?
While the electrician is at your place for any job over $400, he inspects the switchboard and checks the smoke alarms against the Queensland rules, then tells you what is fine and what is not, with a price for anything that needs doing. No charge, no obligation.
Do my smoke alarms really need changing?
From 1 January 2027 every Queensland home must have interconnected photoelectric alarms in each bedroom, hallway and level. Rentals and homes being sold already have to comply. If your alarms are standalone, battery-only or more than ten years old, they will not pass. We check first and only quote what the house needs.
How fast can you come out?

Will the price change once you start?
